Temporary K-Line after reconnect

Everything was fine until my wireless signal dropped. When it came back up and my irc client auto-reconnected I got a k-line (presumably from being logged in twice from the same IP?) I followed the link suggested in the error message but I'm still unable to connect. What is the correct procedure to resolve such issues?
