Europe approves new german server - efnet.aixit.de

EU-EFnet has granted a server hosted by Aixit/Gatel a 60 day trial period. The admins of the server are Tibar and [Maik]

This will be the first german server to link EFnet since irc.gigabell.de had to delink in July 2001. Gigabell's old primary admin, zap, along with Garion will help mentor this new server.

And welcome, i used to have my shellco located there =)
We had some troubles with the stability, but this was because of the reseller!

Gatel is also known for (probably) the cheapest bandwidth around, various power breakdowns, busted warez servers and a leaky roof (no exaggeration).

klimpong, your right when we had a box there, there was a BIG site bust
Bandwith was cheap unlimited data for 220 euro/month (i find it cheap, reseller prices prolly)
we also had some problems with the power breakdowns. (wich we thought was because of our reseller)

In the end it seems like a good provider, and it's nice to have a new .de server :D

Busted warez servers - those were all rented servers hosted in other companies cages at GATEL.

Leaky roof ? - The facility is state of the art like any other data center, I've never seen or heard of leaky roof :)

Gatel has increcible bandwidth and is a wondeful company, I think everyone will be very pleased by the stability of the soon to be "one-of-the-largest" in Europe.

We hope you enjoy the service!
