IM combination programs

Postby Garion » Sat Aug 23, 2003 11:43 am

I've recently discovered an interesting alternative to Trillian: bitlbee. This piece of software understands the most common IM protocols and runs as an ircd. You connect to it using your favourite IRC client, join the control channel automatically, and there all your buddies join too.

Then you can type "friend: hi!" and bitlbee will send "hi!" to <friend>. Or you can do /query friend and chat with them as if they were on irc :)

This is the bitlbee homepage.
