Hi,

I have been on Efnet ever since I started using IRC. Recently though I have had some problems. When I have disconnected and then tried to re-connect, it won't allow me to connect and comes up with the following msg;

* Connecting to irc.efnet.net (6667)
-
-irc.efnet.net- *** Looking up your hostname...
-
-irc.efnet.net- *** Checking Ident
-
-irc.efnet.net- *** Found your hostname
-
-irc.efnet.net- *** Got Ident response
-
Closing Link: rockyb[@255.255.255.255] (Invalid username [])

I have tried updating my version of mIRC and changing my username but it still won't connect. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful. Thanks guys

Regards
Scott

also, it doesn't look like you even have a username at all

in your mirc options where you have the email, make sure its a valid email format.
also where it says identd, put something where it says User ID in there and check enable identd

don't put any blanks or strange characters/punctuation

Make sure you are not using any non-standard latin letters in the identd field. Also make sure you dont have a dot infront of your desired ident. And I dont think email matters when his client answers ident requests. The problem here seems to be that there is no information in the ident field.

The only thing I can think of is to reinstall mIRC and make sure you only type proper letters in all the required fields.

That is only a temporary kline (5 minutes) Just wait for the kline to expire, and you will be fine :)

About your ident problem, I have no idea what you are doing wrong. The only thing I can think of is that you are behind a NAT firewall and the firewall is configured to respond with a specific answer on identd requests (blank if this is the case) I know that some of the most common Windows internet sharing programs have this option.

Could this be the problem?

Good luck :-)

For starterrs, get your servers from here:
http://www.efnet.info/?module=servers

also, exactly what do you have in the email and identd options?
