On the Channel link it just has a selection of the top channels with the highest users. But wouldn't it be better to have a page with channels in specific? Like having a few categories. The top general chat channels, a selection of help channels, a sort of quick list, with maybe statistic number of users and topic next to it. In a smaller text format?

it would be great, except we don't have an automated way to see what channels are help channels, etc. i'm told there is an ircd in the works with such capabilities, but it may be some time before it is in production.

but in the mean time, anything like this would take manual intervention and support from the rest of the IRC community, which no one has taken the time to do yet.
