Newbie has a question
I hope someone can answer a question i have. I am basically computer illiterate, i can email and surf the web but that's about it. The question i have is, can a computer program be sent over the air waves using a ham radio and repeaters? This is research for a book and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Re: Newbie has a question
it depends what you mean by "computer program be sent"
it is possible to link up ham radios via internet (echolink), but that is generally for communication only. i have seen some mention of data packets over amateur networks (try researching packet radio, amprnet, and AX.25), however i haven't tried any of it myself. at least from a brief search, AX.25 is used for wireless internet via ham radio. if it is unrestricted internet, then you could theoretically use it for anything you can use your cable/dsl for (including "sending computer programs")
