The global voting body of EFnet have voted to replace the current services/chanfix code with OpenChanfix (OCF), a opensource chanfix services written by a few EFnet administrators and operators.
Also, a new services staff have been voted in consisting of representatives from the OCF team and each region of EFnet. The following have been voted in for the first 12 months period. Garion (OCF), Hardy (CA), mofo (EU) and entropy (US).
There will be no noticable change for the users, as the new services/chanfix will gather scores synchronously with the current ones until both are the same, however it will ease up the administration work for EFnet and some known bugs with the current version will also be fixed to ensure even more correct results.

I know for a fact that Garion and Beige put a lot of time and effort into OpenChanfix, both coding and debugging.
I had fun *trying* to make the chanfix client crash durring testing
Congrats to them for creating a quality, easy to configure/install Chanfix server, suitable for both a large IRC Network like EFnet, and smaller networks.
If you run a smaller network and traditional services are just too much, this is an excellent alternative. definitly check it out. We run OpenChanfix on FoxChat, and its never failed us!
