irc.underworld.no passes trial
After 60 days of trial irc.underworld.no is now a fully linked server to the European portion of EFnet. Enjoy

Welcome to the underground, underworld.

So as Efnet continues to lose users, staff runs to other networks, it's good to see you guys continue to link servers.
700 users? there are servers running unrealircd with more users but what can you expect from the same gang that runs ircsource.
Congrats, you guys are really doing a good job with what used to be the largest irc network? :)

If you have any great ideas of how EFnet could attract more users feel free to share it.
If we change the way EFnet works we will loose those users that are still loyal to the network, so what we who operates the network can do is to make sure we have a good set of stable server that will ensure good connectivity for those using us. And i would say that we do a heck of a job ensuring that.
But for those who want nick services, channel services, host mangling, gameservs and all that there are better networks then EFnet to use..
IRC is dieing slowly anyway, and there isn't much we ca do to change that. With all the bandwidth that is out there the younger generations want video, sound, picture and not plain old multiplayer notepad.

Not sure what the objection is to host munging for non-opers as long as true host and dns can be seen by opers?
