We're beta testing an SSL gateway on irc.eversible.com port 9999, so if you're interested in giving it a shot (if only to let us know if your client software connects ok or not) we're grateful for any and all feedback!

Works great for me. Using mIRC 6.31 (Win XP Pro) and XChat 2.8.4 (Kubuntu Linux 7.10).

I had been waiting for SSL support on Efnet. My work's ISP blocks irc packets because of some virus scare, so I hadn't been able to get on. But since the packets are encrypted, I can finally get on with mIRC and stop using cgi-irc.

I was able to connect with BitchX-1.1-final+.. The I:line was already full though, so I couldn't stay connected..

Any reason why it was unable to lookup my hostname and receive an ident response? My IP address resolves properly to a host forwarded to it, and I do have a working identd.

i was able to connect and such, but today the connection to the server was not possible anymore :(

It works, I just have too many global connections...
