Yupp, its good to see some doing work to keep the core of the network as stable and reliable as possible. When a client leaf splits its not that bad, but if the hubs isnt stable it causes alot bigger problems. EFnet is one of the networks that have realized that

Well i'm pretty sure EFnet certainly does have the largest server to (irc) clients ratio, compaired to any other network.

But why not

Well, we see how other networks have get burned earlier due to the oposite. EFnet is picky on new servers, but we dont deny a server with good connectivity, good support and a decent staff just because we dont feel we must have the server to survive there and then.

Just look at dalnet, and how it depended on just a few servers to hold the load..

4-5 years ago efnet allmost sufferd of the same, and i think the fear of those time also makes us think that its better with one to many then one to little

But yea... efnet is loosing users even tho its a stable network these days.. and thats worrying..

In what way does it say otherwise?

It clearly shows that efnet was extremly low on servers, and those linked were restricted one way or another to local peers or internet exchanges.

I'm agreeing with seiki here. I think our drop in users is due to much tighter connection restrictions on drones and open proxies from all servers. The network has become a lot cleaner lately.
