efnet.cwpanama.net's administrator NiKoLaS delinked the server today because of the ddos attacks over the past few days.

What was the scale of the ddos ?

Seems like a waste of time for some people to get a server up and running, getting it linked, then leaving because of an attack soo quickly.

You kind of have to expect some sort of problems at the very begining. New servers are a nice target, but eventually it will stop.

I can't see admins agreeing on letting the server run until it get hits once.

it was more than once, and it was affecting other customers of the ISP

The reason behind efnet.cwpananam.net's delink was not entirely due to DDoS attacks, however it was a great contributer and it was causing disturbace to the ISP. There is talk of a new Cable and Wireless server in the future and I very much hope that everything goes well for NiKoLaS in the future!

i heard there was a software giant that was supposed to try and get their server linked, i think it was called Mike Rowe Soft or something like that.

I`m positive to see more big providers having an intrest in EFnet, but there is no applications in at the moment in any of the regions that is under process.
