links shows 46 servers, removing hubs and service types, you end up with about 32.

so long as we don't return to the situation of summer of, err, '99/'00/'01 (can't remember exactly which year it was), we should be ok - during those couple months I think the most I saw was 12 servers.

*shrug*, time to go kiddie munching again.

I'm wondering what the reason is for delinks in the fast few weeks...
is it really because of attacks ? or is it because of efnet politics ?

It's easy to blame the kiddies, but for what i have seen the kiddie activity is dropping down.. could be me that just doesn't see them.

P.S A german server would be nice (has there ever been one?)

I`m sure the attacks has something to do with the delink, but it might not be the primary reason. Most likely something in between of the bandwith usage, time needed to maintain the servers and the attacks. When its more work then fun most people choose to drop it.

And yes, zap admined irc.gigabell.de here a couple of years back, i dont remember the excact reasons it was delinked but it had something to do with jippii.de taking over some (or all?) of gigabell.

gigabell was a great server.

while we're being nostalgic, lets take a moment to remember irc.ins.net.uk.

Gigabell went Chapter 11 and so did soon Jippii Germany, if I remember correctly. They do ringtones and games for mobiles nowadays.
