Ehhhhh well, when I came home from Charleston, SC in July.
I couldn't get into any EFNet servers at all.
I'd try to connect to the twin cities server at first. But then noticed it did the same thing for all of them.
It says:
Checking Ident
Found Your Hostname
Got Ident Reponse
Then it says
Closing Link: isf`pharc[__jinseei_@255.255.255.255] (Invalid username [__jinseei_])
I still don't know how to function mIRC very well, but I've never seen that.
Thanks for reading this and supplying me some information.

Re: Connecting to EFNet in IRC
As lucy said, take out non alpha-numeric characters in your ident and you should be fine, but also just as a tip, on EFNet, we don't generally refer to servers by their location but rather by the server's hostname. The "Twin Cities" server you are refering to is actually named irc.umn.edu, and irc.umn.edu only (afaik) allows clients from Minnesota ISPs and Minnesota universities/schools (or Minnesota netblocks of larger ISPs, such as Charter). So, if you aren't on one of those connections, you should try different servers. There is a link to a server list on the main page of this site.jinseei wrote: I'd try to connect to the twin cities server at first. But then noticed it did the same thing for all of them.
