New bug in mIRC (post 6.0)

A new bug/exploit has surfaced for mIRC which effects v6.0 and on. It involves DCC. To find more information about the bug, and how to temporarily protect you until a fix is availible check out http://irchelp.org/exploit

please tell me they are going to fix this in 6.03 and call it 6.04 becuase i really dont want to be forced to upgrade to 6.1x series.

i have read that document. they give you a workaround. i want an actual patch for 6.03. a workaround isnt a patch....

I don't think this bug actually crashes 6.03, at least my 6.03 client didn't crash, just my 6.1 and 6.11 client.

6.03 also crashed trust me

Its mixed, my 6.03 on win2k is fine, as are some other peoples on NT. Yet ive also seen reports of peoples 6.03 crashing.. We cant know why some crash and others dont unless specifics are given about the bug, and I dont think they will be.

crashes on that for sure...i am also using mirc 6.03 + ircn

ircn sux, most mirc 6.03 clients i saw didn't crash... don't know, whatever...

*cough* ftp://ftp.efnet.info/clients/win32/mirc/mirc612.exe would be more proper, as we are a offical mirc mirror now!

Thanks to seiki and munky for fixing it.

Hopefully in some time we can be a offical mirror for a lot more irc-related.. eggdrop, muh, BitchX, irssi and so on..
