Open proxy

Postby sayunnz » Sat Mar 19, 2005 3:31 pm

Sorry, I cannot resolve this problem:

-irc.kagmir.ca- *** Banned Hi Sasa!, we've found an Open Proxy on your host, Please visit http://www.blitzed.org/proxy?ip=219.95.153.160 for more informat (2005/3/19 06.33)

I went to the website.. and this is what I got:

Open proxy lookup
Performing a lookup on the IP address 219.95.153.160.
The IP address 219.95.153.160 has never been in our blacklist nor has
it been submitted for scanning.
Email?
If you are reading this page as a result of your email being bounced, this
suggests a mistake or misconfiguration at the receiving site -
219.95.153.160 has never been present in our blacklist. You should
contact the site you are trying to send email to by other means, as we
cannot help you further.

IRC?
If you have just received this message after being banned from an IRC
network it may take a few moments for your IP address to be submitted.
Please refresh this page in a few minutes. It is also possible the IRC
network is making use of our BOPM software but not contributing proxies to
our OPM blacklist, in which case we cannot help you, you must talk to the
administrators of the IRC network you were trying to connect to.

PLEASE ADVISE. THANKS!

Probably the best thing would be to:
you must talk to the
administrators of the IRC network you were trying to connect to.
This forum probably isn't the best way to contact the admins of a specific server. The best way is to contact them directly instead of posting in a public forum. You can't be guaranteed that the admin of that specific server will read this post, or reads these forums at all for that matter. You might want to to try to connect to a different EFNet server, and, once connected, type " /stats p irc.kagmir.ca " (without quotes, of course) to get a list of admins and opers on that specific server and their idle time in seconds. Then, msg the admins and/or opers with low idle times and explain your situation. Or, you could do " /motd irc.kagmir.ca " or look at the server's MOTD via this web site (click the "servers" link on the front page and then click on the server name). In the MOTD, there is often a contact email address to which you could send an explanation of your problem.

I just visited the same URL, and got the following:
The IP address 219.95.153.160 is an active entry in the OPM blacklist, it was confirmed as an open proxy by our scanning software at 2005-03-19 15:39:03 GMT.
If you click on details, it says that the IP in question has HTTP/HTTPPOST on ports 80 and 8080, and was canned by bopm on irc.inet.tele.dk.

It was also scanned by servercentral.net proxy monitor to be an open proxy on: Saturday 19th of March 2005 03:43:54 PM GMT
In God we trust,
Everyone else must have an X.509 certificate.

err, must have just been added... when i went to the URL before, it said it wasn't in the database, just as he said originally. that makes more sense now why the ban was set!
