Irssi Not Connecting

I am trying to use Irssi for windows. I try to /connect, but every time I do, I get

"Looking Up your host name"
"Checking Ident"
"Couldn't look up your host name"

And I get some messages like I joined, something about how many clients exits. stuff like that. Then I check to see if im in any channels, which im not. So I try to join something like #FW. And it doesn't work.

Can you please help me? Is this a port problem?

"Couldn't look up your hostname" is normal if your IP address does not have a working reverse dns.

have you tried joining channels other than #fw?
