to elaborate on bobjuh's reply, EFNet doesn't offer that service like some other networks do (e.g. Undernet's *.users.undernet.org). This is partly due to the fact that if someone wants to attack a user and get them off of IRC, and the person's host isn't a real host, the only way to get them off of IRC is to attack the IRC server itself. Why should the generous providers of our IRC servers take that risk for some dumbass that is going around pissing people off?

Also, the hostnames that many (most?) users choose are ugly, annoying, and/or unneeded in the firstplace.
