Re: BitchX ipv6 ssl efnet connect
i haven't used bitchx in some years, but i would assume it's smart enough that if you specify an ipv6 server (eg - irc.ipv6.efnet.org) it will use the correct ipv6 interface. if you have multiple ipv6 ips on your client machine, -h works via command line (eg - BitchX -h mylocahost mynickname irc.ipv...

Data breach
Due to an insecure password on an old admin account, hackers were able to retrieve a data dump of the forum database. At this point, it is safe to assume that all passwords are compromised. All passwords have been reset to a random string, you will need to perform a password reset in order to login.

Re: D-Lined for possible Siref infection
bans for infections are generally done on individual servers for a period between 1-14 days. you can either: 1) try another server which may not have the ban, 2) wait for the ban to expire, or 3) contact an oper on the server the ban is placed on and request it be removed. it's possible you have bee...

Re: CBL/K-lined/... on all EFnet IRC servers because of "a windows trojan" on a Linux machine...
if you're ISP is using a NAT, putting you on the same visible IP as someone infected with trojans/viruses, there's not a lot you can do with your own IP. however there are other methods of getting on IRC:

Re: Tor not getting blocked well enough
tor is blocked on EFnet, and every server should be using at least one RBL that lists tor. however, not every RBL is perfect (even the one operated by the tor project). if the user in question is always using the same server, it's possible that server's BOPM isn't operating correctly or the RBL they...

Re: Underworld EFNet server dead?
they're moving the server internally, but it's a low priority task compared to paying customers, so it's offline a few days until it's ready. it will be back.

Re: How can I find the time when I connected?
it will tell you how long you have been connected. but if you disconnect and reconnect, it won't when you were online previously. there is a /whowas, but that is not persistent data (ie - you can't search back more than a day or so)

Re: D-Lined because of Possible Botnet infection
getting the IP removed from a blocklist does not automatically remove any bans that are already placed on the servers. either wait for the ban to expire on the server (usually within 24 hours), or contact the server admin to have the IP unbanned.
i have removed the ban on your IP on chat.efnet.org.

Re: Company K-Lined first time in a few years
connection time out is not a kline. check the route using tcping or tracetcp, most likely there is a firewall rule blocking it.
in the mean time, you can try another server. http://www.efnet.org/?module=servers

Re: Newbie has a question
it depends what you mean by "computer program be sent" it is possible to link up ham radios via internet (echolink), but that is generally for communication only. i have seen some mention of data packets over amateur networks (try researching packet radio, amprnet, and AX.25), however i haven't trie...
